The ARM Motorsports N55 Intake System is a complete induction upgrade designed specifically for N55-powered BMW E-Series models. By redesigning the entire intake path from the turbocharger to the air filter, this system significantly improves airflow, turbo spool, throttle response, and power output—yielding gains of up to 11whp while noticeably sharpening induction sound.

A major improvement comes from the relocation of the air filter to the area behind the passenger-side headlight, which shortens the intake pathway by 68% compared to the restrictive OEM airbox. This relocation allows the ARM system to use a significantly larger 124 cubic-inch oval filter, maximizing surface area while fitting securely within the available engine bay space.

At the heart of the system is a precision CNC-machined turbo inlet that inserts into the OEM turbo with factory-grade precision. The inlet expands rapidly to a full 3 inches, maintaining this larger diameter through the entire intake tract for maximum airflow. Compared to the OEM inlet’s 46mm restriction near the turbo, the ARM Inlet measures 75mm—a dramatic 63% increase in cross-sectional flow potential.

The primary intake runner pipe houses the MAF sensor using a CNC-machined mounting flange for perfect sealing. It also includes a built-in PCV port to retain proper PCV system function and an integrated support bracket to stabilize the filter during spirited driving. A plug-and-play MAF extension harness is provided to relocate the sensor without cutting or splicing wires.
