The Vargas Turbo Technologies Spline Lock Crank Hub Solution is a precision-engineered upgrade designed to eliminate crank hub slip on BMW N54, N55, and S55 engines without the need for crankshaft drilling or permanent modification. Unlike traditional pinned or welded solutions, the VTT Spline Lock system uses a proprietary high-tolerance spline interface that press-fits directly into the crankshaft, creating a positive mechanical lock that resists rotational movement under extreme load.

Developed through extensive testing and multiple prototype revisions, the final Spline Lock design has been validated both in controlled bench testing and real-world racing environments. During internal testing, the hub exceeded structural limits of the test apparatus before experiencing any slip. The system has also been proven in high-power applications, including vehicles producing over 900 wheel horsepower and operating at sustained engine speeds up to 8,000 RPM.

Each crank hub is CNC-machined from premium 440C tool steel and heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of HRC60, delivering exceptional strength, wear resistance, and long-term durability. The Spline Lock system is designed to work exclusively with the VTT Crank Bolt Capture for maximum security and retention, ensuring proper clamping force is maintained during high-RPM operation.

This solution offers a stock-like installation process that is fully reversible, making it ideal for performance builds where reliability and serviceability are critical. Professional installation using factory BMW timing tools is required to ensure proper alignment and engine safety.
